Tips to start your vegetable garden

know that we have all been here with this same question how to start your vegetable garden.  Well here  are some few steps that I took when i was starting my garden.  Hope it helps

Find your garden site:

Space may be very limited in your back yard so planning and figuring out where you want to put your garden is the first step as it might be permanent.  So take your time and look around, find out if any plumbing is under ground and is sunlight shining on the spot all day long or couple of hours. Does the soil have good drainage or will you need to make raised beds.  Is my water supply close to where you want to make your garden take all this into consideration then decide

Plan the layout:

Next, plan your layout, how do you want to your garden to look, keep in mind what type of vegetable you want to grow.  Think about the waking pathway, you can draw it on a piece of paper and imagine it on your backyard, will it appeal to your neighbors or will it an asset to your backyard.  Gardening is fun so make it fun.

Soil Preparation:

Soil is the most important in any garden, remove any grass, loosen up the soil by plowing, prepare to see if you have all the equipment to do it, think about what you will need and rent or buy, if you want to grow your vegetables organically think of organic fertilized, I am growing few chickens organically so I will be using the chicken manure to fertilize my garden.

Vegetables seeds:

You need to buy your seeds that you want to plant, most seed have the instructions how far to plant and how high the plant will grow so research and plan how far apart you will plant and which one will be ready for harvest first.

These are the basic steps that it would take to start you own back yard organic vegetable garden.  Keep in mind what you and your family or friends like to eat, and if you like to cook and experiment with cooking try new vegetables and grow it, or grow the ones that you know best that will grow in your area.

Then just water and keep the pest and pets out and sooner that you expect you will be reaping your wonderful organic vegetables.
